You cannot speak light to
Your heart is a void
You cannot make spill
Your speech is contrivance
It's truth is not truthful
These are not your own words
This is not your own will
Your world is in chaos
But it's not alarming
It's numbing, and halting, and foggy
I'm closing your eyes
Sleep is better than blindness
Just fold both your hands
Wait for light to break through
My soul is a darkness
But light keeps on speaking
My world is in chaos
but that's not the end
And the hands that hold clouds
And give sight to the blind ones
Bid me keep on speaking
Till the veil is full rent
And grace upon grace
And life upon life
The way that this light
And this order will come
Will be through my sleep-walking
Sleep-talking whispers
That gain strength in darkness
And spill out the sun
